Kick drum trigger
thingiverse
Here's how you can design your own bass / kick drum trigger: simply add some soldering skills and install a piezo element, then sync it up with your drum computer. You'll need OpenScad for this, which makes adjusting easy peasy. Start by building the clamp with a curve that matches a 22" bass drum; I chose to set mine to 3/16 inch (a little deeper). Attach the piezo using double sided foam tape, and you can swap it out later if you change your mind. Choose between an M6 bolt and nut made from metal for secure fitting – since my thread was oriented sideways. Next up: a coat of protective laquer to keep your design intact – use packing foam underneith as needed. Make sure to use high density materials like that too. This way, scratches won't be a concern; you want everything clean. Color can add the final touch too – choose a bright one for maximum attention grabbers and bold accents on any type of product!
