Khaleesi Clip Dual Sized Filament Clip 1.75 & 2.85mm

The "Khaleesi Clip" was named by my wife, a die-hard Game of Thrones fan like me. I didn't originally intend to create a design resembling a dragon, but as the project progressed, it began to take shape in that form. Somewhere along the way, I realized it looked like a dragon and decided to run with it. There are three main problems I've encountered with any filament clip I've designed or downloaded in the past. First, there's the "Goldilocks" issue - the filament is either too tight or too loose. We all know that 3D printers have limited tolerances, making it challenging to find the perfect balance for holding a 1.75mm hole. Secondly, I use both 2.85mm and 1.75mm filaments, so I wanted a 'one size fits all' clip. Lastly, I aimed to create a design that can be installed easily without the clip falling off when it bumps into another spool. The above three considerations led me to develop a design with a tensioned clip that loads the filament from the side. While the filament can be fed through the holes easily, the simplest way to insert it is to snap it in from behind the dragon's head. One hole fits 1.75mm filament, while the other accommodates 2.85-3mm filament. The tail of the clip is designed to hold the reel of the filament snugly in place, preventing it from sliding around or falling off. I've tested it on a variety of filament spools, from cardboard to thick plastic, and so far, it's performed well. The red eye in the photo was printed using Prusa's MMU2 (Multi Material Unit 2). This was my second print with the unit, and I highly recommend it if you have a Prusa printer.
