I am fed up with constantly having to untangle or purchase new charging cables for my daughter, as well as fixing the dock connector on her phone. So I decided to upgrade her iPhone 5 to wireless charging and also print a holder for her car. At the same time, I designed a holder for my Samsung S6. The following components are needed: 1x Anker PowerPort Qi 1x LKL3 MICRO USB Dauerstrom Adapter 12V to 2A / 5V (or a USB power strip) 4x M4x12 screw with nut Additionally, for the iPhone: 1x iProtect Qi-compatible protective case for Apple iPhone 5/5s Additionally, for the Samsung S3: 1x kwmobile Qi receiver for Samsung Galaxy S3, which fits under the cover on top of the battery Print settings: Printer: CTC Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: I am using PLA. Support settings in Makerbot software: Angle: 80, Spacing: 1 mm, Margin: 0.5, Density: 0.2, Extra support, Leaky connections I designed this entire setup with Creo. I attempted to parametrize the holder as a learning exercise, so that I can only input the dimensions of the phone and the location of the inductive coil and export a compatible holder. My Samsung S6 fits into a "Bestwe X-Line TPU Skin Case for Samsung Galaxy S6 silicone case", so the dimensions are slightly larger. Dimensions: 146mm x 75mm x 9.5mm, coil is central; iPhone 5: 130mm x 61.5mm x 10mm, coil is central. Since this was so simple, I also added three more holders: Samsung S6 without case and Samsung S3 with and without case. Today, I even added a horizontal holder for the Samsung S6!
