Keyforge Key Token - Multipart V3
thingiverse
I have added 2 new versions of the unforged side with holes in the bottom side so that you can insert weights. `Keyforge-key-revised_unforged-quarter-space.stl` has space for a U.S. quarter sized coin or weight and `Keyforge-key-revised_unforged-poker-chip-space.stl` has space for a standard sized poker chip but in order to accommodate that it is 2mm thicker than the normal one. I have not tried either of these but adding a weight was suggested and I thought it was a good idea. I see no reason why they would not work but you will need to print those with supports. This remix makes the forged side all one piece and shaves a bit off of the Aember to make it sit just a hair below the top of the key. This revision is aimed at people that are looking to paint them, the separate inserts in the original V2 did not work as well for that and were difficult to get a good print of. Also, dropping the Aember down a bit makes it so that after you paint them and glue them in place the Aember do not stick out above at all so they are not going to get scratched as easily. Still, if you happen to have some translucent orange-yellow filament, the Aember would likely look slightly better just printed in that instead of painted. If you are interested in painting them this is what I did start to finish to make them: 1. Print all the parts x 3. 2. Primed the forged and unforged sides black. 3. Primed the Aember white. 4. Glued the forged and unforged sides back to back with super glue. 5. Dry-brushed the keys with a medium metallic silver paint. 6. Painted in the colored bits of the forged side the appropriate colors (and then touched up any silver from any mistakes). 7. Applied a VERY heavy coat of gloss varnish to the colored areas of the keys. This is what gives them depth, don't be afraid to give it a second coat if you think it needs it. 8. Painted the Aember (I just mixed yellows and oranges comparing to a token till I got a color I liked). 9. Applied several coats of gloss varnish to the Aember pieces. 10. Glued the Aember pieces into the sockets on the keys
