Keyboard Wrist Rest
thingiverse
This is where your wrists find a comfortable resting spot while typing. The item was printed with settings designed to leave the interior infill exposed, making it somewhat supple. It's optimized for my pok3r keyboard, but I believe it would adapt well if scaled up. However, fifty percent of a standard-sized keyboard might still be too big for most printers. Since this entire project stretched 290mm in length, I had to split it into two distinct parts – left and right sections. If I were to redo this design, I'd make it even more flexible by decreasing the thickness of the shell or adjusting the STL from the .py file, or simply reducing the infill percentage. Adding a little curve to the front could be aesthetically pleasing as well, but implementing an infill pattern would be tricky. Additionally, I might remove some material underneath the edges for added flexibility; yet this would probably cause my hands to move uncomfortably. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 50% Notes: I sliced with Slic3r, set the top and bottom layers to zero, and selected a rectilinear infill pattern – which produces this distinctive look and allows the structure some suppleness.
