Keyboard Overlay for Labeling Keys (16mm)
thingiverse
This is a keyboard overlay that fits 6mm labels you can make with most label printers. This allows you to temporarily label keys. You can print multiple trays and just drop them in for different uses. I originally made this for use with **MSFS2020**, but it is useful for other games with a lot of controls or keyboard shortcuts (**Elite: Dangerous**, **Cities Skylines**, etc.). Also should be useful for creative use, like **CAD**, **Blender**, **Photoshop**, **Premiere**, etc. This was designed to fit this: [Logitech MX Keys](https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/keyboards/mx-keys-wireless-keyboard.920-009294.html) However, it also fits 2012-2016 Macbook Pro keyboards, and seems to fit serviceably in most of the non-mechanical keyboards I have around. It is designed for 16mm keys with 3mm spaces between, with offsets of 4.5mm on the second row and ~9mm on the third row. The design allows up to about 1mm of slack on the offsets and sizes. When it fits right, it should sink just below the keys. I have a TODO to remake this in SCAD so it's parameterized. Now that I have a good design I'll give that a shot. However, I've included the Fusion 360 design and you should be able to tweak the key size by starting from the first sketch and going from there. The STL here also includes label guides. You won't see those in some of the photos, as I only realized I needed them once I started labelling the first overlay.
