Key to Unlocking the Secrets of the Brain
thingiverse
OK, this key won't physically unlock any secrets, but it can be a valuable resource for those working in neuroscience. It can spark inspiration, serve as an inside joke or conversation starter and even make a great keychain. A quick and easy print, this makes a fantastic gift for local neuroscientists or anyone fascinated by the mysteries of the brain. Add a split ring and you're all set. The key has been enlarged from its standard size to something more substantial. As such, it won't unlock any locks. Warning: Don't try to unlock your brain by inserting this key into your ear, nose or mouth. That's not how it works. UPDATE: July 20, 2017 I've been struggling with slicing the original file so that it would print without falling apart. I went ahead and added a bit that deviates from the original key blank more, but it now prints much better and doesn't even require any support. BrainKey_2.0.stl has been posted and BrainKey.stl has been removed. UPDATE: July 24, 2019 I've noticed many of these breaking, so I've completely removed the unsupported area on the underside of the key. It's much more robust now. Please use BrainKey_Robust_2.stl as it is the strongest and easiest to print. I'll leave BrainKey_2.0.stl up for archiver purposes.
