Key to old furniture
thingiverse
I purchased a vintage cabinet and only received one key, prompting me to create this straightforward and efficient replacement key quickly. The key has been thoroughly tested and functions flawlessly on my cabinet, though caution is necessary when printing it: avoid applying excessive force or the key may break within the lock. This custom-made key is designed with ease of printing in mind, requiring no support material whatsoever. I printed it using PLA with a layer thickness of 0.10mm (100 micron) and 100% infill. To assemble the key, simply snap the two parts together; if necessary, apply superglue or a similar adhesive to ensure a secure fit. Alternatively, you can print the two parts as one unit to allow for additional cooling time between layers. The design's modular nature allows for flexibility in creating keys of varying sizes for other old locks, while retaining the handle portion. Conversely, you can also design new handles for existing key designs, offering versatility and customization options.
