Key to Edgar Allan Poe's Trunk
myminifactory
This metal object unlocks Edgar Allan Poe's trunk and was discovered on his body after he passed away. The key and the trunk are now displayed at the Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia. A 3D scanner called NextEngine Desktop was used to create a three-dimensional model of the key while it was being scanned right at the Poe Museum. For more information about the key and the trunk, visit https://www.poemuseum.org/collection-details.php?id=11. The Poe Museum is credited with this image. This 3D scan of the key was used in an 8th Grade English lesson; read more about it here: https://vcuarchaeology3d.wordpress.com/2016/09/28/unlocking-education-using-the-3d-poe-key-scan-to-teach-8th-graders/
