Carrying one or more keys without a cover in your jeans pocket imposes a significant risk for your pockets and your smartphone (if that is in the same pocket). The key might poke through your pockets and you will loose it. Or it will scratch the screen of your expensive phone. (Decide for yourself which is worse, both is annoying.) This printed part is forming a protective cover around your key which does not leave any edge of the key uncovered. It features a release button and a build-in spring mechanism to hold the key inside the cover until it is released. It can be conveniently operated with one hand. Simply press the button and swing it around like a pocket knife to open or close it. The parts are designed to fit a "ABUS Security" key. Print instructionsI strongly recommend to print the two parts from PETG, which has the right flexibility for the build-in spring mechanism. I have used Prusament PETG orange (which makes it easy to find the key in a dark pocket or around the house). All you need in addition are two countersunk screws M3x10 and two M3 nuts. Prototype parts were printed successfully on a Ender3Pro. The final parts were printed on a Pursa Mini and came out absolutely flawless.
