First off, this decorative plate serves no electrical purpose, so use it at your own peril. I didn't feel like drilling more holes into the wall to hang my keys again after painting was finished. But look, there's a perfectly good wall plate just sitting there. So there you have it, a spot to put in a modified plate without any holes in the wall. This fits decora style wall plates and should line up perfectly with the existing mounting points. There's also a small shelf above that can hold your cellphone or other lightweight items while you're tying your shoes, etc.
