Key Holder
thingiverse
The conventional key ring is not ideal for pockets due to its perpendicular design. The proposed solution is a thin key holder capable of holding 3-4 keys. Each thumb wheel swivels to catch and release keys, but adjustments may be necessary to fit your specific set of keys. Designing in OpenSCAD and printing on an Up! PP3DP printer with specific settings were employed. Future work includes fitting a large car key. The hardware is intended to be open source under the TAPR OHL license. To assemble, print six parts, remove support material, insert keys into pegs, attach thumb wheels, and screw the cases together using four 4-40 x 3/4 Phillips screws and two 4-40 hex nuts. Now you can use your new key holder to open things with ease!
