Key Fob - Cover or Keychain Repair

One of my friends asked me to 3D print a solution for his broken GYM Access Key Fob, which is commonly used in office buildings, apartments, schools, and home security systems. Apparently, the keychain cutout on regular HID Key Fobs breaks easily after heavy use, forcing users to pay exorbitant fees to replace damaged or lost devices. I aimed to create a simple and affordable fix. After examining the problem, I came up with a case design that would fit around the fob, providing a stronger keychain loop. To ensure universality, I tested my design on various collected Key Fobs. The case features a snap-together bottom and top that encase the fob for added strength and protection. A small notch in the top section allows users to easily separate the case using a coin or key. This design turned out so well that I decided to use it on my company's Key Fob to prevent future breakage.
