Key Clip
thingiverse
Here's my trolley key clip design. I attached it to a key ring using a simple clip. Print settings: Printer: xyz davinci 1.0a Rafts: No Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 90% Post-printing, I might need to separate the gate from the main body. My printer bridged the small gap slightly. How I designed this trolley key clip is as follows. I started with two circles, 15 and 10mm in diameter. A sketch joined them together and was then extruded to a thickness of 3mm. After that, all parts were joined together. I made a copy of the original design, scaled it down to 0.9, centered it over the original, and then subtracted it from the original. I also created a 12mm circle and a 6mm diameter octagon, extruded them, and then subtracted the octagon from the circle. The result was joined to the hollowed-out form to create the key ring hole. Next, I split the form in half and removed one side. Then, I used the cube primitive to create the gate and played around with its angles since I couldn't change the object's center point in 123D. After joining it all together, I was ready to print. That's basically how I designed this trolley key clip, aided by a generous amount of port, which probably didn't help! Custom Section Anyone who likes this design and wants to improve or remix it is welcome. I've included the 123D file for you to use.
