Key Box Birdhouse

Key Box Birdhouse

I was asked to make a Birdhouse to hide a [Master-Lock 5401D Lock Box](https://www.masterlock.com/products/product/5401D) and I was free to go in my own direction for style. I started by searching online to see if there was anything similar already done but came up short. For inspiration I did a search for birdhouses on Thingiverse and I really liked the look of the [Swedish Birdhouse](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2503022) by PurchenZuPoden. My design borrows some of that style. All parts are printed without supports. I used the 0.2mm Quality setting in PrusaSlicer. The main body is printed in [Greyhound Indigo PLA](https://greyhound.supply/collections/pla-filament/products/greyhound-supply-premium-pla-filament-1kg-spool?variant=20306709381178), the roof is [Jessie Marble PLA](https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/jessie/products/jessie-pla-1-75mm-x-1kg-marble), the white trim is [Prusament White PLA](https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/prusament/800-prusament-pla-vanilla-white-1kg.html), and the black is [Jessie X Black PLA](https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/jessie/products/jessie-pla-1-75mm-x-1kg-black). The following hardware was used in assembly: * 7x M3x5 socket head screws * 2x M4x12 button head screws * 2x M4 hex nuts * 4x M3 [heat set threaded inserts](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087NBYF65/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) * 2x magnets 8mm diameter x 2.5mm I used super glue to set the magnets and to attach the trim to the front of the house. A little drop will do and reduces the chance of over spill causing white stains of the surrounding plastic.
