KENWORTH LOGO STEERING MIDDLE
thingiverse
Thought I'd create a 3D print of a Kenworth logo for the steering wheel to conceal the hole behind it, as I use a spacer due to the turn signal and wiper levers behind. It's not perfectly round, but it'll do for now. I used sticky tack to attach it to the wheel and also employed a 3D pen to join the middle circle to the outer part. You could probably just stick it on with sticky tack as well. My settings might not be ideal since I'm new to 3D printing, but it turned out fine for me, and I use a magnetic sheet on my heat bed because I found tape too much of a hassle when sticking to prints. Comments and tips/recommended settings/temps are welcome. I used PLA with Formfutura 1.75mm HDglass (Red) and AMZ3D 1.75mm White. In Cura, I split the object into parts and deleted the four bits, keeping only the round parts (version 14.07). For the background, I used Formfutura 1.75mm HDglass (Red). Layer height: 0.2mm Shell thickness: 2mm Bottom/top thickness: 2mm Fill density: 20% Print speed: 30 mm/s Print temperature: 220c Bed temperature: 80c No support was used, and a brim was employed (not sure if it's necessary). For the letters, I used AMZ3D 1.75mm WHITE. I glued the letters onto the red part. Layer height: 0.2mm Shell thickness: 2mm Bottom/top thickness: 2mm Fill density: 20% Print speed: 30 mm/s Print temperature: 190-200c Bed temperature: 50c No support was used, and a brim was employed (not sure if it's necessary).
