My trusty Kenwood microwave refused to open when I pressed the button, prompting me to investigate further. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the opening mechanism had indeed failed, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and recreate it myself. After some trial and error, I managed to successfully build a new one, much to my satisfaction. If you're thinking of printing this part in PLA, I'd strongly advise against it - it starts to deform noticeably at around 60 degrees Celsius.
