Kenmore Stove Knob
thingiverse
I had to create a replacement knob for my Kenmore stove. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with scanning 3D objects yet, and I don't possess the skills of a CAD expert. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands by modifying the existing knob. Initially, I attempted small changes, but soon realized that I needed to start from scratch. However, I managed to salvage the top part of the original knob, which is the part you grasp when turning it. I tweaked its width and added the same markings as my previous knob had. Now, I'm waiting for another print to complete, after which I'll be sharing more pictures of this new design. After reattaching the modified knob to the stove, I discovered that it wasn't deep enough to fit flush with the surrounding surface. This led me to adjust its depth, and version 2.3 is the result. As you can see from the picture, the numbers and letters on the knob were slightly distorted after ironing. To get a better print quality, I had to scrape off excess material and iron out the creases. Unfortunately, the top part of the knob didn't iron as smoothly as expected. Despite this setback, I'm confident that fine-tuning my printer settings will resolve the issue. I'd like to thank you for taking an interest in my design! If you have any suggestions or recommendations on how to improve my settings, please feel free to share them with me. Unfortunately, I forgot to save my previous settings before making changes, but I've attached the latest profile I used. This particular print was done at a lower resolution (0.2mm) and lower infill density (20%) compared to my usual settings (0.1mm and over 70%). Medical issues have left me with a foggy memory, so any help in identifying areas for improvement would be greatly appreciated!
