Kendama V2
thingiverse
I designed Kendama Version II because my initial creation was vulnerable due to weak inter-layer bonds. The base-cup/handle/spike part, which was attached last, worried me that it might shatter. Despite its fragile design, my first prototype worked well initially but broke multiple times and needed a lot of superglue for repairs. For Kendama Version II, the Handle/Spike parts print in two horizontal halves to harness their inherent strength and eliminate the "bulge" from the BigCup/LittleCup part, which added bulk for support. Instead, all the pieces fit together with an intuitive twist motion (no glue required). Kendama Version II features several distinct colors because its individual parts print separately before being combined, creating many color possibilities. Instructions Print all parts with a 70% infill setting to achieve the ideal density and weight balance, particularly for the ball which closely mimics that of a wooden one made from ABS plastic. Print two halves for each part: handle pieces require two, and other parts demand one copy each. Ensure that each tab is slightly cleaned up to fit into their designated slots as small flanges created by first layer extrusion might otherwise hinder a snug match. After the cups are placed in alignment with their "keyhole" holes using 90-degree twist motion binding all three together simultaneously creates both support for your new Kendama design
