The KR-2, a small experimental aircraft designed by Ken Rand in the early '70s, was an evolution of his successful KR-1 Experimental. Seating two side by side, this lightweight plane featured a VW or Porsche engine delivering 75-90 hp and a fixed pitch 2-blade propeller. With a cruise speed of 120 mph and stall speed around 40 mph, it was one of the world's tiniest two-seaters. Constructed by homebuilders using a wooden truss and plywood fuselage, wood wing structure, and composite foam and fiberglass epoxy resin wings, this aircraft was as popular as its predecessor. This meticulously crafted model is nearly to scale, features animateable control surfaces, animated propeller, openable canopy revealing the instrument panel and seat arrangement, and retractable main landing gear into recessed wing bays. Available in several formats and paint schemes.
