Originally designed by Ken Rand in the early '70s, this homebuilt aircraft was an advancement of his successful KR-1 Experimental. With seating for a pilot and passenger or copilot side by side, it boasted a VW/Porsche inline engine (75-90 hp) and fixed pitch 2-blade propeller. Reaching cruise speeds of 120 mph and stall speeds around 40, this miniature two-seater was an engineering marvel. Crafted with a wooden truss and plywood fuselage, wood wing structure, and composite foam/fiberglass epoxy skins, it gained popularity alongside its predecessor. The model features animateable control surfaces, animated propeller, openable canopy revealing the detailed interior, retractable main landing gear into recessed bays, and is available in multiple formats and paint schemes.
