Available in various formats and color schemes, this homebuilt experimental aircraft was designed by Ken Rand in the 1970s. It aimed for a fast, cost-effective single-seater that required minimal mechanical skills and had a lightweight composite frame (micro-bead foam, fiberglass cloth, epoxy, and wood). Powered by a 36 to 75 horsepower VW engine, it reached cruise speeds of 130 mph and a top speed of 140. The aircraft had a 7.5-gallon fuel tank and a range of 400 miles, with mechanically retractable landing gear.
