Kel-tec RDB Handguard
thingiverse
The Kel-Tec RDB rifle boasts impressive capabilities, yet its handguard falls short with approximately 1mm of movement and an unappealing appearance. To address these drawbacks, I embarked on a project to design a more visually appealing and secure hand guard. Through several iterations, I arrived at this version, which is now available for your review. The accompanying design files detail the other variations I explored. This custom handguard snugly fits over the standard Kel-Tec RDB and utilizes a 6x38mm or 1/4 x 1(1/2) clevis pin to firmly secure it in place. In my opinion, this upgrade greatly enhances the rifle's overall aesthetic appeal and provides a significantly improved fit with zero movement. Regrettably, the mounting point for this handguard is situated at the gas block. Consequently, high-temperature filament may begin to soften after approximately 50 rounds of firing. Although I did consider outsourcing machining services, the associated costs exceeded those of purchasing an Irish Industries Raptor Rail, prompting me to opt for the latter instead. For those fortunate enough to possess access to a CNC machine, I invite you to take on this project and create your own customized handguard.
