Keflavik International Airport [IATA: KEF, ICAO: BIKF], also known as Reykjavik-Keflavik Airport, is the largest airport in Iceland and the country's main transportation hub for international travel. It's situated approximately 1.7 NM west of Keflavik and 50 km south-west of Reykjavik's city centre. The airport features two runways, covering a vast area of about 25 sq. km. Most international flights traveling to or from Iceland pass through this major hub. The primary carriers at Keflavik Airport are Icelandair and WOW air, who make the airport their central base for operations. Although nearly exclusively used as an international airport, it serves some domestic routes; however, seasonal flights from Akureyri are also flown to Keflavik.
