Keeper of The Ring
thingiverse
This is a Picatinny rail mounted Ring-Pop Holder. Why ask? Because why not? This actually started when I first got my printer. My friend J enthusiastically declared "I NEED something 3D printed. I don't know what it is, but I NEED it." This was the first random thing that popped out of my mouth since he had recently joined the Army. It was a great project to use to learn in's and out's of Fusion 360. The rail hardware used for attaching it (posts and knobs) came from https://amzn.to/2MRrzNq. There are also five voids designed into the print, three on the Keeper Top, and two in the Keeper Base. These voids were designed to hold 6mmx2mm neodymium magnets from https://amzn.to/2wMkbIW. The pivot uses a M4x8mm screw that can generally be found at any hardware store https://thd.co/2wMTfsv. You can use an M600 code to initiate a filament change at the appropriate layer so you can install the magnets in the voids. Or, use https://bit.ly/2NTrkOm to put these in for you. It's super simple to use. You can also just wait and watch to pause the print at the appropriate layer as well.
