The "Simple Drawer" is a lightweight, cost-effective solution made of sheet metal. It weighs 1.8 kg and features basic, affordable components for easy maintenance and low spare part costs. The drawer operates as follows: when a customer sends a package at the terminal, it signals the drawer to open; the actuator solenoid retracts, the lock releases, and springs push the drawer forward. If a large package is inserted but not closed properly, the mechanical lock prevents closure. Customers can then utilize a larger drawer for the oversized item. The prototype model has not undergone detailed engineering yet, but if selected, improvements will be made. An updated entry features a slide lid locking mechanism acting as a stopper when two springs push the drawer to the outermost position of the lid.
