The ogham stone, measuring 1.83 meters in length and documented by Macalister in 1945, was discovered by Hitchcock within the inner chamber of a souterrain (located at KE046-022001-, situated inside a large rath designated as KE046-022----). This discovery took place when the ogham stone was serving as one of the roofing stones. Later on, it was relocated to a site situated in front of the police barrack (now converted into a farmhouse; see KE046-031----), positioned within the townland of Keel'. In close proximity to the northwest lies Kilgarrylanders church, which is currently in ruins and identified by the designation KE046-021----. Macalister originally documented the stone as 'Corkaboy', considering its initial location was within that specific townland; however, the townland boundary has since undergone changes, resulting in it now being situated within the townland of Keel. The inscription on the ogham stone was deciphered by Macalister as: CATTUVVIRR MAQI RITUVVECAS MUCOI ALLATO. In contrast, O'Kelly interpreted the same inscription differently in 1954, suggesting it reads: CATTUVVIRR MAQI RITTAVVECAS MUCOI ALLATO.
