Kazoo (Spanish 'Turuta') AKA Kingzoo
thingiverse
This is my innovative design for a kazoo (also known as a turuta in Spanish). It's a delightfully simple musical instrument that's incredibly easy to use. Very clever and entertaining, it's a staple at almost every party here in Spain. Even a child can make magic with it, thanks to its simplicity. All you need is a piece of waxpaper, cooking film, or even a fragment of a plastic bag. Place it inside the cap (simply press the cap into the hole). Then, use your vocal cords (hum) to cause the membrane to vibrate and produce your voice with an unmistakable and impressive tone added. For more information, check out the wiki on 'kazoo'. To become the undisputed king of kazoo players, simply use the trumpet style cap! I created this for my nephew, and we've shared countless hilarious moments playing tunes together. A highly recommended project - one of the most entertaining things I've ever made... PLA printing is recommended due to the height requirement, and body support from the platform is only necessary, making it common and easy for all slicers today. Enjoy it as much as my nephew and I do!!! Remember, DON'T TIGHTEN THE MEMBRANE!!! It will work better if the membrane remains free. All you need to do is keep it tight on the edges, ensuring the inner surface is not tight. UPDATE (17-JUN-2016): I've added a plain cap and a trumpet style cap for your convenience. However, be aware that this design may not suit everyone, especially those with large noses! If you're looking for more excitement, let's make it royal - let's create the Kingzoo!!! I'm going crazy... hahahaha. Let the party begin... UPDATE (16-JUN-2016): I've enhanced the acoustics of this design. The cap diameter has been increased to allow better bass response, while an extra air exit has been reduced to increase resonance and harmonics. Additionally, the mouthpiece size has been decreased to provide a better fit for kids' mouths. Finally, the cap design has been modified to interact more effectively with the membrane, ensuring protection without compromising performance. No updates are expected for the kazoo body in the near future, but stay tuned for potential extras for the cap!
