Kazoo
thingiverse
I've longed for a kazoo, so I took the initiative and designed one myself. :)\r\n\r\nYou can hear what it sounds like (with a piece of an envelope window as membrane) in this video.\r\n\r\nMy printer was able to print without any support. However, depending on your printer's bridging capabilities, you may need to tidy up the top part of the kazoo's thread with a knife. Fortunately, the threads are quite coarse and forgiving, making them easy to clean.\r\n\r\nTo get started, simply cut a membrane from an envelope window (use the washer as a template – wax paper also works, but I find it doesn't sound as nice), place it in the kazoo's opening, put the washer on top (smoother side down) and screw the nut in. That's it. :)\r\n\r\n**PS:** You play a kazoo by humming into it. ;)\r\n\r\n**Dryphter's Hint:** "For others, try using the outside of the washer to draw a circle on the cellophane or wax paper, but then cut it out a bit smaller than that."\r\n\r\n**Edit 25.09.2018:** I printed a kazoo in PETG and found that the increased friction made it nearly impossible to screw both pieces together, so I added a second version of the lock nut with 0.2mm more clearance.\r\n\r\n**Edit 11.10.2018:** I added a third version of the lock nut with 0.4mm more clearance.\r\n\r\n**Edit 19.12.2018:** Uko designed a toddler-friendly lock nut that you might want to check out!
