I added a One Piece Bracket that's been tidied up a bit. It turns out, having the split clamp didn't give me a huge advantage after all. I'm building a DIY mount for my kayak fish finder transducer from scratch. This clamp is meant to hold 1/2" schedule 40 electrical conduit found at Lowes or Home Depot in my Kayak's gear track - I'm using a 90 degree curved piece and a short extension for the transducer arm. The mount allows for a small rubber strip to be glued to the bottom of the clamp as friction material for the PVC, while also letting the transducer pivot if I hit an obstacle. I'll use a standard stainless steel 1/4 bolt on one side and a stainless bolt with an adjustment knob on the other so I can easily swing the transducer up and out of the way when coming ashore.
