Kayak Pedal Drive T-Track (Wilderness/Perception)
thingiverse
I wanted a rod caddy to sit atop my pedal drive while handling fish, changing out lures, and more. So, I decided to upgrade it by transforming it into a T-track, allowing other accessories to be added without limiting its uses. This design does not slide over the top; however, if printed correctly, it will fit snugly from the side. My first version, the T-track v1, fits perfectly between the raised alignment markings on my pedal drive. The rod caddy v1 has a bit of play but adding a notch and securing it with a solid medium rubber band solves the issue. I've double-wrapped the band to ensure it stays in place without any movement. Future enhancements may include higher rails and clip locks for added stability. For now, printed and tested versions use PLA material, which provides flexibility necessary to fit onto my pedal drive's helix system. ABS would offer better durability but might restrict the flexibility required for installation. I've designed and thoroughly tested this rod caddy on my Wilderness Systems Helix PD. It also fits seamlessly on the Perception Pilot PD, as they share the same drive mechanism. Please note that due to its plastic composition, use this rod caddy at your own risk. I disclaim any responsibility for lost or damaged items, as well as any injuries sustained from using it.
