Kayak Fishing Stake Out Pole (1/2" EMT)

If you do a lot shallow-water kayak (or small boat) fishing you already know what a stake-out-pole is. If you don't, a stake out pole is a replacement for an anchor in water that is more shallow than the pole length. You simply drive the pole into the dirt or sand and a clip a line between the pole and the boat.

This one uses 1/2" EMT available very cheap at your local home improvement shop. I'm using a 4' pole with some para cord and aluminum carabiners. The point of the pole is very tight fit however you can add some sealant to keep the pole water-tight. The mid-pole tie-off should be able to slide with some force. The top will also be a very tight fit and some sealant may be a good idea.

In addition to staking out during fishing I use a 2nd copy of these with additional carabiners as a flag pole at the beach.

Print Settings

Notes:

Since these parts are likely to encounter some force a good amount of infill and strong material would be a good idea. I used 40% infill on PETG.
Category: Sport & Outdoors
