Kawasaki Ram Stem Mount

Kawasaki Ram Stem Mount

I experienced difficulties with the Ram mount intended for installation in the stem of a triple tree. I suspected that this issue was partly due to the stem design of the Ninja 650 (2019 model year, if relevant). The stem features a hex hole that is approximately 10mm deep but becomes significantly wider thereafter. Following the manufacturer's instructions for installing the Stem Ram Mount resulted in damaged plugs, so I created and produced this alternative solution. To fabricate the washers, print them using PETG with supports to account for the overhang on the top washer. Printing them at a 0.1mm resolution was sufficient, considering their relatively small size. The expanding plug requires flexible filament; I used NinjaFlex TPU with 20% infill, but reevaluation suggests that a higher infill percentage might be more suitable. If this design fails and I reprint it, I plan to try increasing the infill percentage as noted in VERSION 2 NOTES. Installation involves using the provided base, screw, and nyloc nut. VERSION 2 UPDATE: To enhance durability, print the expanding plug at 100% resolution. This modified mount also fits a 2020 Ninja 636 model and appears to be compatible with most current Kawasaki motorcycles.
