Replacing the worn-out Horizontal Stab on my vintage Kavan Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter model demands precise craftsmanship. After printing multiple PLA cores, I wrapped them in layers of glass-cloth and a strong resin to create a sturdy base for assembly. Mounting, priming, and painting the finished piece is now all that's needed to complete the project. The initial model was built back in 1979, showcasing its age. However, I upgraded it with state-of-the-art Raptor 90 mechanics in 2010, significantly improving its performance and condition. Although it has endured for decades, a replacement for the original balsa Horizontal Stab is urgently needed to keep her in top working order. A photo taken in late 2010 captures my aircraft in mid-air at high speed, effortlessly gliding over a lush green field during an impressive low-pass display.
