KAUST Beacon

KAUST University serves as a beacon for peace, hope, and reconciliation, benefiting people worldwide. During its inauguration, late King Abdullah emphasized its significance. The university's diverse community of over 60 nationalities inspired the "KAUST Beacon" model by Daniel Tobin, Matthew Tobin, and Jamie Perrow from UAP Principal (Australia). This complex structure resembles an amorphous hexagonal spire emerging from the Red Sea. Upon seeing it, Tayyab Mubeen was inspired to recreate it in Solidworks, learning more about both Beacon and Solidworks in the process. He plans to 3D print his design on a Stratasys 400mc and Dimension BST 1200es, opting for a coarser STL resolution to keep file sizes small. Submitting this entry pushed Tayyab out of his comfort zone but showcased the essence of the challenge.
