Kaua'i is a rugged island of volcanic origin in the Hawaiian archipelago, boasting an area of 1430 square kilometers. Its highest point is Kawaikini peak at 1598 meters, closely followed by Wai'ale'ale Mountain near the center of the island, reaching 1570 meters. The image was created using ALOS Global Digital Surface Model (AW3D30) and a Landsat image from the World Imagery service on ArcGIS online.
