Decided to design a custom tool holder for the V1 Engineering MPCNC, bolted directly to the existing tool plate, based on the latest engineering specifications. The goal was to create a slightly thicker version with an additional two 6mm bolt points (35mm bolt centers) that can be drilled into the tool plate. This design aimed to enhance safety features by preventing printed tool holders from failing and causing friction fires due to tools slipping down into work pieces, which can lead to jamming. Although parts can fail, it's essential to ensure the machine is never left unattended while operating, with the safety stop button readily available at all times. The required screws include six #6-32 X 0.75 or alternatively, six M4x20mm with nylocks, three M4x30mm plus nylocks, and optionally two M6x35mm with M6 nylocks. Before using the tool holder, it's crucial to verify that the fitted screws do not catch on any Z-axis parts or fasteners. This can be done by moving the Z axis to ensure clearance is maintained.
