Katana Umbrella handle
thingiverse
My wife picked up an affordable Katana umbrella at Disney World because she's into ninja-style swords, but as soon as we pulled up to our house, the handle came off. I decided to give it a shot and make a better one. The umbrella shaft is 15mm in diameter and sticks 85mm deep into the handle. I designed a diamond pattern on the handle so that whatever material you use to wrap the handle can be wrapped around it easily. I used roughly 3m of 1cm wide thin cotton ribbon for the wrap. I borrowed the bottom cap design from a model found here on Thingiverse, but I'll make sure to give credit once I find it again. Update: I made a version 2 with a longer body, wider base cap, and different style stop. The inner body now has a textured finish all the way across instead of those diamonds.
