A unique display rack to showcase 5 gleaming cocktail stick katanas. Traditionally, katanas were expertly crafted Japanese swords that played a significant role in feudal Japan, often referred to as "samurai swords." Modern interpretations of the katana are sometimes created using innovative materials and techniques. The katana is instantly recognizable due to its distinctive appearance: a curved, slender, single-edged blade paired with a circular or squared guard and an extended grip designed for two-handed use. Historically, katanas were closely associated with the samurai of feudal Japan. If mishandled during storage or maintenance, the katana can suffer irreversible damage. The blade should be stored horizontally in its scabbard, curved downward and edge facing upward to preserve the edge. It is crucial that the blade remains well-lubricated, powdered, and polished at all times, as the natural moisture residue from the user's hands will rapidly cause the blade to corrode if not thoroughly cleaned off. The traditional lubricant used is choji oil (99% mineral oil and 1% clove oil for fragrance). Similarly, when stored for extended periods, it is essential that the katana be regularly inspected and aerated if necessary to prevent corrosion or mold from forming (mold may feed on the salts in the oil used to polish the katana).
