Katana Beer Tap Handle

Katana Beer Tap Handle

I crafted this tap handle to resemble the distinctive hilt of a Japanese katana, specifically for a rolling drink cart that would proudly carry my Mardi Gras Krewe's identity. As a member of Krewe de Fu, a martial arts-inspired group known for its elaborate costumes and energetic parades, I wanted our barware to reflect our unique theme. The design eschews integrated threads in favor of a hexagonal aperture, accommodating a standard 3/8" nut that securely holds a beer tap. This setup has proven effective as a press fit for my purposes; however, if the fit seems too loose, some adhesive can be used to guarantee a snug connection. I created this design using Fusion with inches as the primary unit of measurement. When slicing it in Prusa Control, I found that scaling up by 2540% was necessary due to the software's default interpretation of measurements in millimeters. Fortunately, supports should not be required for printing this design.
