In summer 2016, the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Culture joined forces with CyArk to document three cultural treasures on Naxos island. The Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades worked closely with CyArk to capture precise images and data using advanced technology. CyArk's team used a Faro X330 laser scanner to create detailed 3D models, while aerial and terrestrial photogrammetry were conducted using a high-quality Canon 5D camera and a Phantom 3 drone. This thorough documentation will serve as a valuable tool for the Ephorate of Antiquities to enhance existing records of the site. The team's goal is to aid in planned restoration efforts by providing accurate information. The CyArk field crew successfully completed over fifty laser scans around the historic Byzantine castle of Apalirou, meticulously recording its architectural features and historical significance.
