Unholy Ascension - The Court of Ruin Season 4 - (2/3) Description After the betrayal of Lotharius' closest allies, their traitorous council decided to present a new and imposing Kai'Zhar to rule the empire for eternity. Thus Kastaroth was half-born, half-created. Born of the strongest Vastari blood, Kastaroth stood above all his peers and his battle prowess knew no equal. He conquered unceasingly for a while and was thought invincible by allies and enemies alike. That was until his defeat and subsequent death at the hands of the returned Lotharius, who did not take kindly to another sitting on his throne. As their furious duel came to a close, Lotharius ripped Kastaroth's soul straight from his body. For a moment, he considered crushing it in his hand, but then he thought of a better solution. It was true that the pretender was a powerful commander, so in his death, he would now lead armies that were not his to fight another man's battles. Lotharius put a swarm of spirits at his side who would taunt him for eternity about failing his nation. Notably, between their jeers and japes, they also relay his orders - another part of Kastaroth’s curse was to never see a true monarch again. Embittered and filled with regret and hatred, he now leads his troops wherever he is told to, fighting like a raging tide. Not even the veritable ocean of blood he has spilled in Lotharius‘ name has been able to cool the unquenchable fire burning his soul.
