Karst sinkhole Didyma (Argos, Greece)
sketchfab
Here's one of two "twin" sinkholes, aka dolines, situated in Didyma village on the Argolis peninsula. The massive Big Doline, known as Μεγαλη Σπηλια in Greek (Megali Spilia = Big Cave), measures approximately 200 meters in diameter and boasts a staggering vertical distance from bottom to top of up to 80 meters. Initially, this doline was an enormous cave whose dome collapsed due to erosion caused by rainwater draining through it over thousands of years. This prolonged process is estimated to have occurred around 50,000 years ago. For more information, visit the following link: http://www.showcaves.com/english/gr/karst/Didyma.html
