Karo - Ender 3 cooling fan duct
thingiverse
Can't print a lattice cube? Ring coolers don't help much? Too lazy to print a Bullseye or Hero duct? The Karo cooling fan duct was designed with several key considerations: - I want to be able to print a 3x3 lattice cube without the edges bending up and ruining the print - I really don't want to remount BL Touch because recalibrating it is just extra work - Try to make it crash into glass clips a bit less by increasing Y clearance - Print in one piece - No supports Finished lattice photos are from the side and from behind, relative to the cooler. **After installing, ensure the cooler fan does not collide with the duct.** If it does, take a knife to the pointy bit and cut off the leading edge slightly. (V1) The air wedge might be completely useless for all I know. Though I do know that some of the air is being blown away from the fan. I haven't done any fluid simulations, but reading a paper titled "An optimal design algorithm for centrifugal fans: Theoretical and experimental studies" would probably have helped if I had thought to look it up ahead of time. It's named Karo because the skirt is sorta like a diamond shape, but naming it "Diamond" would probably be overestimating its performance.
