Karl Bier's Burr Puzzle

Karl Bier's Burr Puzzle

thingiverse

My ancestor Karl Bier was an exceptional craftsman and architect; sadly, I never got to meet him. His furniture still adorns my home, showcasing his remarkable skill. One of his creations is a burr puzzle made from hardwood that has been treasured for over six decades. Its shine and finish are testaments to the countless hours he devoted to it. Inspired by this heirloom, I recreated an exact replica using my 3D printer, hoping others would enjoy it as much as I did with grandpa's original wooden version. To print this puzzle, use a heated build platform with an aluminum plate covered in Kapton tape for optimal results. Since the fit is snug, ensure your printer is well-calibrated. The openscad source file is provided, allowing you to adjust the clearance for a looser fit if needed. You can also choose to model individual parts or the entire assembly using the appropriate lines in the openscad source code. Lastly, solving the puzzle requires knowledge of openscad and figuring out each part's placement one by one.
