Karearea Talon Racing Pod
thingiverse
This is my custom designed pod for the Karearea Talon. It's built around key components and fits snugly together. Camera: I'm using the Runcam Micro Swift - check out its specs here http://bit.ly/2FWbfDP RX System: My RX of choice is the XSR, details can be found at http://bit.ly/2FXHq5K VTX Unit: The Unify HV Race is my VTX unit of preference - learn more about it here http://bit.ly/2Du5IWB VTX Antenna: I'm pairing this with the AXII ufl antenna - read more at http://bit.ly/2G0EG7W Flight Controller: The Flip32 F4 is the heart of my pod, learn more about its features at http://bit.ly/2FXHq5K ESC Unit: My ESC unit is a 4in1 30a 2-5s model - check out its specs here http://bit.ly/2G0EG7W The fins on this design serve as camera protection and house all the antennas. There are two tubes for the RX antennas, with the AXII fitting neatly into the bulge at the back. To attach the pod to my frame I'll need some M3 nuts and bolts. V3 adds even more camera protection and a bit more room inside the pod. It also features a 45-degree LED mount on the back - perfect for people to see my LEDs when behind me. V4 goes back to the V2 shape, but with added horns for extra camera protection. I've swapped out the normal hexagon M3 nuts for square ones (http://bit.ly/2rV463U). The hole for the AXII has been moved slightly, exposing it a bit more but giving me a much tighter mount. A 45-degree LED mount for my 4-LED board has been added to the rear. Lastly, I've made the antenna holes triangular so they print well without supports. Important Warning: The Karearea Talon was not designed to be used without its carbon fiber pod. Running this pod increases the chances of damaging the aluminum parts of the frame in a crash - use at your own risk. I put a lot of time and effort into designing this pod, so if you enjoy using it please consider tipping me by clicking the Tip Designer button!
