In order to boost the suction power of my Kärcher WD 3.300 M workshop vacuum cleaner, it's possible to increase the hose diameter from its standard 38mm inside diameter (40 outside diameter) to a whopping 50mm. This modification is compatible with all Kärcher vacuum cleaners that have a standard hose like the WD3. When paired with popular cyclone dust separators, suction power increases dramatically. However, this upgrade doesn't require a cyclone separator - it can significantly improve the efficiency of Kärcher vacuums on its own. I designed the hose adapter as a versatile solution. Users can either opt for a 50mm spiral hose or use the adapter with 50mm HT pipes. When using spiral hoses, I recommend securing them with a hose clamp to prevent damage. Note that the hoses shown in the photo tend to contract when the vacuum is turned on. I printed the adapter from PETG filament provided by Goedis. PETG is an elastic material that's resistant to oils commonly found in workshops. However, users should be aware of static electricity and ensure proper discharge before handling the adapter. One way to do this is to run an earth wire through the hoses, which must be connected from the beginning of the hose to the dust container and grounded. When printing the adapter, I recommend only enabling supports from the platform and manually setting them in the locking groove. This prevents internal hollow locking mechanisms from becoming blocked by supports that cannot be removed (as shown in the last picture).
