In the year 2020, on the territory of Mažeikių district municipality, in the villages of Šerknėnai and Kalniškiai, at Senkapy, also known as Antanavičius' sandpit (6391), archaeological explorations were conducted. During these investigations, a disturbed burial grave was discovered 55 cm below the surface. According to C-14 analysis, it dates back to the mid-XV century to the beginning of XVII century.
