Kanto Pokedex ID Card Holder
thingiverse
This is a holder designed specifically for ID cards, similar to those issued at universities. Its purpose is to securely hold one plastic ID card with precise dimensions of 3-3/8 x 2-1/8 x 1/32 inches. The CaseBody file has been engineered to be printed flat, allowing the hinge to function seamlessly right off the print bed. Decoration pieces may require a slight sanding on their edges to fit perfectly into their corresponding holes for the cover. Strategically placed holes enable the insertion of 5x10x2 mm magnets into both sides of the CaseBody, ensuring the cover remains securely closed. Additionally, a keychain hole is located at the top, facilitating attachment to lanyards. To achieve optimal results, it's recommended to print with layers as thin as 0.1mm. Crucially, slicer settings should be calibrated to ensure support structures break away effortlessly, preventing difficulties when cleaning out the overhang where the card fits into the body. A note of importance: after printing this model for testing purposes, it was discovered that the door tends to pop out of its hinge due to a slight misalignment. This issue can be resolved by creating a small hole in the bottom hinge and inserting a staple or paperclip along the hinge axis, effectively keeping the door aligned and in place.
