I began working on the project at 4:30 and finished texturing it by 5:40 without any tutorials. I simply used a basic cylinder shape and added multiple loop cuts, then stretched out the roots. I also employed circle selection to random parts of the model and shaped it so that it looks more natural. The model appears quite low-poly, especially in the roots since I don't really know how to set up materials for complex shapes yet. I could have left the roots undone but thought it would be a bit too simple if I did.
